Here is my "World Market" story. Last week, mom, Johnathan, and I went to World Market...the store with tons of fun things to look at where they jam pack tons of those things into one not-such-a-big store.
Go with me here: I have Johnathan in his carrier inside one of the small World Market shopping carts (like the grocery store). Mom is off shopping somewhere else and I am pushing Johnathan up to the front to ask the sales girl about an item out front. I get my answer and off we go. I push him along the side wall checking out the vases, pick it up, check the price and put it back. I push him a little further, pick up the glass jar that would look oh so cute on my kitchen counter, check the price and put it back. Oh, the pillows down there are so cute...pick it up, check the price and put it back. Get the picture? I was just shopping...me and Johnathan, Johnathan and I...mother/son time...perfect. I get a little further down where they have all of the furniture so close together you have to turn sideways just to get through. As I was trying to get my shopping cart through, I bump one of the tables and chairs and look down to see if I woke Johnathan up.
Um, I look down and I realize, as I'm in a state of shock, I had been pushing the display cart full of the World Market's POTATO CHIPS WHILE MY SON WAS STILL AT THE FRONT OF THE STORE WHERE I LEFT HIM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am loosing my ever loving mind! How embarrassing! I'm sure people were looking at me with this mound of potato chip shopping cart thinking, "wow, she must be having a party or something!" or maybe they were calling CPS on their cell phones, I don't know. All I know is that I quickly walked back to the front of the store to retrieve Johnathan.
I yell out to my mom who came from behind the towel section. I reenact the whole scenerio, she took this picture (kinda blury from her cell phone, but those are ALL chips!) and SHE wheeled the chips back to the front for me. Thanks mom! Soooooooooooooo, next time you think YOU'RE having a bad day - just keep this story in mind.
Okay, here are a few pictures of Johnathan and Julia. He found his hands last week and is just talking talking. It is the SWEETEST sound to a mother's ear. Check out the video here:
And this may be a little R Rated...but I HAD to share an item we got at the diaper shower. It's a PeePee TeePee. It's what you can cover the ol' dinga-ling-aling with when you're changing diapers. Viewer Discretion Advised:
My Aunt Mavie, my mom's sister, was in from Vermont. She is Julia and Johnathan's Great Aunt Mavie and we jokingly call her Graunt Mavie, but she prefers Aunt Mavie instead, so that is what we call her.
We had the Bishop's and Roach's over for dinner on Friday night. Kind of a last minute deal. Here are pics of the kids eating their dessert.
Last but not least...I think I'm seeing the pot belly that I've been waiting for starting to pop out on Johnathan now. I LOVE it! Hopefully at his next weigh in, Dr. Geutersloh will be proud!

Okay - I'm Back!
Mommy's Group - Kids
This is the first week that we started a separate Mommy's Group. We were getting so big that we needed to "multiply" our group. What a blessing that we are so big that we have to have TWO groups...it really is a ministry. I love hanging out with these girls.
We broke it up into a Mommy's Group Kids and a Mommy's Group Toddlers/Babies. I'm in the Kids group. We all met at the Frisco Rec Center again today. Here are some pics from the day. Oh and I have a NEW camera, thanks to my mom! She said that I can't have a two month old and NOT have a camera. Thank you soooo very much, mom!

Happy Birthday, Jason!
Jason turned 33 today. We (the kids and I) had fun leaving cards and presents around the house for him to find when he got up before his men's bible study.
Then I asked him if he'd like to go eat lunch at Jin Beh for his birthday (Japanese steak house...our fav...and cheaper at lunch time). He agreed and I was to pick him up at 11:30. He was surprised when we walked in to a full table of his friends. Our pastor, Khris and his wife, Valinda were there, our friends Jen and Ross Bishop, our friend Angie Schroeder (her husband was out of town) and my mom were all there. I think he was surprised, at least he said he was.
It was a good day and I praise God for him. He is such a wonderful man...so helpful with the house and kids and he really does take care of me, his crazy wife. Happy Birthday, sweetie!
Love!

More Water Stories
What an exciting day we had yesterday! Mom got baptized by Jason in our Sunday morning service. It was so sweet. My mom's friend, Carol, came in from Bryan with her son Daniel. My friend Kristi, Brianna and her husband, Corey came to church as well as Jason's parents. It was such a wonderful celebration.
I will have pictures posted on this particular blog soon...since my camera made a dive into the water two days prior, I had to use my video camera to take pictures and I haven't had time to retrieve those off of it. Check back to this day for pictures...coming soon.
Jason started out by saying, "This is my mother-in-law, Sayla, Jennifer's mom. And on March 9th she made a decision to follow Christ as her Savior. She always knew of God, but it moved from her head to her heart that day..." Then he asked her if she has asked Jesus Christ to be the Lord of her life and she said yes and then he said, "I baptize you my mother-in-law and now my sister in Christ, in the name of the Father, the son, and the Holy Spirit" (while he was "dunking" her). She was really cute about the whole thing. Really excited. She also had some mixed emotions since two days before, her dearest friend for many many years, Barbara, had suddenly passed away from a massive heart attack. Mom said it just really put her baptism into perspective.
After church we had a house full of people over for lunch to help celebrate mom's new life. It was a lot of fun and if I know my mom, she probably slept LATE this morning!
God is good. Love!

Lights, Camera...Water!
A couple of us went to the Frisco Rec Center to swim today. It's only $6 for a day pass (Julia is free). We didn't actually swim...they have an indoor "playground" sitting in the middle of 11 inches of water. It has slides, tunnels, spray guns, etc. Soooooooo much fun and PERFECT for a 2 year old. Here are some pictures BEFORE I dropped my beloved camera in the water:

Another One Bites...Another Friend!
Okay, my daughter REALLY is a very sweet girl. She is fiesty, but she's precious. When she's happy, she's happy...but when she's mad, she's MAD.
Apparently Thomas and she were fighting over a toy (probably the same one she and Kross were fighting over!) and she, well, bit Thomas!
Another phone call, another pick up at church, another talking to, another discipline. She has never bitten us or anyone - EVER. The teacher said she thinks it's when things are chaotic. They had just gotten back from taking school pictures and things were crazy. Two weeks before with Kross, she said it was at the beginning of school when things are crazy and busy....they said she is really sweet and not normally like this at all.
Anyhoo, every Tuesday and Thursday morning before school we tell her that her teeth are for food, NOT for biting her friends!
Eeeeeeeeeeeeek - how long does this stage last???

Another One Bites...the Friend!
Monday, as you already know, Jason came home which was glorious! It's always nice when they come back. With my hormones and lack of sleep, I'm surprised he actually came back!
Tuesday, well...let's just say that it was a "biting" day. No seriously....let me tell you about our morning. Jason and I just started carpooling with Kanon's mom (Julia's 3 year old friend from church who lives 5 houses down from us). Jason and/or I are always late to our 9 o'clock staff meeting on Tuesdays because we have to get Julia to school (Mother's Day Out) by 9. So now, Ericka (Kanon's mom), takes the girls on Tuesdays and we take the girls on Thursdays. Well, we were so excited to both be at our staff meeting on time for the first time in a long time because the car pool just started this week.
Jason and I were in the meeting MAYBE 10 minutes, when Jason gets a phone call that our daughter decided to sink her teeth into the shoulder of one of her friends, Kross. Well, when your child bites another kid, it's an immediate dismissal from school that day. Soooooooooo, off Jason goes to the church to pick up Julia. She got a good talking to by her daddy when they got home. It was a fight over a toy. I called Kross' mom to apologize, she has 3 kids and was very understanding.
Until next week...

The rest of the week was great. Johnathan turned two months on Friday and had his 2 month appointment. I was excited when the scale read 10 pounds 9 ounces...until his doctor (who attends our church - very sweet godly man), Dr Geutersloh (pronounced "Gooter-slaw"), says to me, "Is he eating okay? Are you taking care of yourself?" WHAT?? WHAT?? Never ask a new breast feeding momma if she's taking care of herself! I'm already stressed out whether or not he's gonna die of starvation. Later he said that he's just probably going to be a tall skinny guy. Well, could you have said that at the beginning?!?! No, it's fine. I am waiting for the pot belly on the boy to pop out, though.
Until next week...

Day 5 - He's Back!
Okay, so I have NEVER seen Julia dart out of her toy room (which is just the little space under the stairs in our house that we've turned into a play place) soooooooooo fast! "Dadda, dadda, dadda!!" Kissy kissy, hugs hugs, lots of love and laughs in about 2.5 seconds of Jason's arrival back home.
Let me back up and tell you about my last day alone, though.
It started with an almost on time arrival to Mommy's Group at Jenni's house. We had a few hitting and pushing times by, pretty much, all the girls (we only have 3 boys and two of them are babies). The most amazing thing is that William (Jen Bishop's 3 year old son) and Julia actually got along this week! We were wondering what the deal was. Jen Bishop said, "is there a full moon coming tonight or something?!" They usually pick on each other back and forth and there are lots of time outs and, "Julia - share!" and "William, give that back to her", and no's, etc....you get the picture if you're a mom of a toddler. Anyhoo, so all in all Mommy's Group went well!
Then nap time went great. Julia went down around 2 pm and Johnathan and I hung out. THEN came the tornado warning sirens in our neighborhood. Now I knew that a storm was going to be blowing in, so I decided to turn off Oprah and check the weather. There were some signs of funnel clouds IN MCKINNEY, JUST ABOUT A MILE from our HOUSE! Sooooooooooooooo, I immediately started making room for me, Julia and Johnathan in Julia's toy room (which remember is under our stairs)...this would be the safest place for us to go.
From the time I cleaned a space out and got everything ready to grab the babies and make a run for it, the sun was out and the storm had passed. In fact, it came and went so fast the news people were shocked as well. Because of the storm, Jason's plane had to circle over Dallas for about an hour, so it put him home later than expected.
But we were ready for him. I dressed Julia in this denim dress with Longhorns on it and a longhorn shirt underneath and had Johnathan dressed in a NINE MONTH old Longhorn onesie (it had been Julia's!). Now, for those of you who know me, you know that this is against my religion (well, in the college rival sense of the word). I am an Aggie and Jason is a Longhorn. These two don't mix very well, except when I want to make my husband smile after being gone for 5 days and he gets to see his kids dressed in his favorite team's colors. Otherwise, these are ugly colors for any human being to have as a part of their wardrobe.
So we ate dinner together, put Julia to bed, went to bed early ourselves and slept very well (Johnathan slept all the way through till 5!). I'm so glad he's home. Thanks for hanging in there with me the last 5 days.
